" Days of open doors "

On 26 June 2013 FLD organized event " Days of open doors " . This activity aimed to introduce and educate the marginalized groups of citizens and members of the Women's Forum of Political Parties ( 15 citizens) about the organization and jurisdiction of the governmental institutions in protection of basic human rights and freedoms. For this purpose four institutions, Social welfare service Stari Grad , the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo, Municipal Court in Sarajevo and Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton were visited.

Thanks to this activity, formed group of citizens was thoroughly acquainted with competencies of these institutions, the bases of their work and organization. Participants had the opportunity to discuss with the officials of these institutions and to closely resolve dilemmas they faced in everyday life. Owing to successfull and positive example of cooperation with the public institutions, all participants expressed interest  for such activities to become a regular practice in the future. Event " Days of open doors "  is implemented as activity within the framework of the project "Public legal education ," which aims to strengthen the capacity of professionals in educating citizens about the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina , as a very important factor that guarantees the rule of law and enhancing standards of legal security of citizens. This project is being implemented with the financial support of USAID JSDPII .
