Stady visit from Macedonia

On October 22, at the Center for Women, Foundation of Local Democracy held a meeting with representatives of the NGO sector from Macedonia, who within the four-day study visit, expressed interest to learn more about the work of the Foundation of Local Democracy.
On October 22, at the Center for Women, Foundation of Local Democracy held a meeting with representatives of the NGO sector from Macedonia, who within the four-day study visit, expressed interest to learn more about the work of the Foundation of Local Democracy.
Representatives of women's organizations of the municipality of St. Nicholas and Exo (Echo), were especially interested in the field of gender equality and services for protection of victims of violence, in which field FLD has long experience (fifteen years of the Shelter, 11 years of SOS phone, five years of the Center for Legal Aid, as well as the Center for Women).
The visit was an opportunity to exchange experiences on a personal and organizational level, as well as the exchange of good practices in both countries.
As a good practice, FLD presented the work of the Coordinating Body for the prevention, protection and the fight against domestic violence in Sarajevo Canton, composed of the representatives of the relevant ministries and NGO sector (FLD), which systematically and strategically operating in this area.
As it is planned that by the end of the visit all said received and collected information is analyzed, it is recommended that FLD for further action and improve the situation when it comes to domestic violence attention to the importance of networking and the NGO sector as the best action when it comes to impacts on public policy
 Foundation of local Democracy as a member of the 12 networks, particularly presented the work of Safe Network, as a successful example of joint work of non-governmental organization in the field of domestic violence.
